Beware of "dedi"...Whoever He/She/It Is....

Someone calling themselves "dedi" seems to be making a collection of blog names...and not being terribly original about it.

A few days ago, my good friend/fellow writer/partner in crime William Kendall alerted me to a potential problem. My Beishir Books buisness/website/domain name had been lifted by someone calling themselves "dedi." Upon further investigation, we discovered that "dedi" has a long list of blogs here at Blogger--none of which have any real content on them. Is "dedi" a spammer? Well, if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, that stuff you just stepped in is probably duck crap.

I immediately reported the problem to Google, as did some of my friends and fellow bloggers--but so far, nothing has been done. "Dedi" is still here. Check out the page and the profile and list of blogs. Does this not look a little suspicious?

So...I'm here to state that "dedi's" Beishir Books "blog" has absolutely no connection to Beishir Books. I don't know what he/she/it plans to do with the blog, but I own the domain. A fellow writer posted a comment--which she later deleted--suggesting "dedi" should promote my books there, since they're stealing the name. That's the last thing I want.

You might want to Google your own name and blog titles to see if "dedi" has helped himself to yours as well.....

  1. Wow, that's ... worrisome really. And it sucks, too. Hope Google takes care of the jack wagon soon. Guess he's hoping to get clicks or something? Or maybe he's hoping one of the sites he has stolen the name of will hit it big and he can sell his version? Really struggling to see purpose in his venture.

  3. Whoever this dirt bag is, they had better run back under the bloody rock they crawled out of.

Spammers are absolute wastes of oxygen.

  5. "dedi." I keep hearing "dead ee." As if he is a corpse, which in some fantasies perhaps he already is...

  6. Norma, I hope you get this settled soon. This should be investigated. And I agree with William. Spammers are really more than annoying. Take care!

  8. It got worse. Some nitwit named Desi has taken to squatting on the Beishir Books name, and is uploading all sorts of blogs. Whether it's the same as this one, we don't know yet...

  9. Actually, it is the same one. The original post is gone, but all of those extra ones are listed, based on clicking that link.

  10. It's the same person and he/she (she, if the photo on the Facebook page is the real thing) has taken over several blogs, most of which have "Books" in their name.

And Blogger/Google is doing NOTHING to put an end to it.
