I Know, I Only Post on Fridays Now, But....

Yes, I know it's not Friday.

However, I'm trying something new. Creativia is currently running a special promotion for Chasing the Wind (the ebook is $.99 for the next few days). I'll be posting short fiction and excerpts at Write On By Kindle to coincide with each of the upcoming promotions, excerpts from upcoming books or "Where Are They Now?" pieces to show what has happened to the characters in those novels originally published back in the '80s and '90s.

Today, I've posted an excerpt from the Chasing the Wind sequel, An Army of Angels. I hope you'll check it out and let me know what you think!

  5. Eve: None of us will ever be that fortunate, to have everyone love our stuff. It would be nice, though!

William: Thanks. I almost posted a longer section, about 23 pages. Maybe next time!

Mari: Coming for an author as talented as you, that's a huge compliment!

Lynn: Get 'em while they're cheap! (Most of the books on my Kindle are freebies or $.99 special promos.)

    1. Mari: That was supposed to read "from," not "for." I never see my typos until it's too late!

  8. Grace: Thank you! I most certainly will. I thought about posting the excerpts here and at my other blog as well. The more exposure, the better.

Gayle: Thank you--but you're talented as well. I love your greeting cards and the other things you've sent me!

  9. Excellent, Norma. I'll have to read more as time allows, but read the first page and I want to see what happens.
I know what you mean about wordpress. I gave up on my blog there long ago. They do make it too difficult to post and keep up with whatever you need to do there.
Hope the promos do super, Norma!

    1. I got my Wordpress problem resolved, but I don't post there very often. I don't feel I need an author blog/website. I have one on Amazon, after all.

So far, I think the excerpt has helped the sales during the promo. I'll have a better idea after the 29th when we do the next excerpt/promo for The Unicorn's Daughter.

  10. The 99 cent deals are great for the readers but how does it go for the writers?

Back when we used to make blankets and sell them at craft shows. We had baby blankets that we sold for cheaper. They were smaller but we made less money per blanket but in the end, it worked out because of how many we sold. And, it brought people back to buy the bigger blankets.

So .. I wondered how it was for 99 cent digital deals.

    1. It works out very well. The publisher does these promos for each of their authors on a rotating basis, and it almost always boosts sales afterward.

    2. That is wonderful. Thanks for explaining.
